Learning at Wisdom high

Parents as partners

Parents as partners

An alliance of mutual understanding and cooperation is vital. At Wisdom High we work with the parents for the child's welfare, as we firmly believe that this is a shared objective and a collective effort. Parents are encouraged to be frank in providing us information about the child's previous records and behavioral concerns, if any. This enables us to provide the required support system and guidance to help the child. The school maintains an open communication system with the parents and children. Wisdom High prides in itself being accessible to children and parents and welcomes a dialogue in matters of concern.

Assessments

Assessments

WHIS follows two types of assessments- formative and summative. Assessment is the use of a variety of procedures to collect information about learning and instruction. Formative and summative assessment represent two classifications of assessment, each with a distinct purpose. Formative assessment is commonly referred to as assessment for learning, in which the focus is on monitoring student response to and progress with instruction. Formative assessment provides immediate feedback to both the teacher and student regarding the learning process. Summative assessment is commonly referred to as assessment of learning, in which the focus is on determining what the student has learned at the end of a unit of instruction or at the end of a grade level (e.g., through grade-level, standardized assessments). Summative assessment helps determine to what extent the instructional and learning goals have been met. Formative and summative assessment contribute in different ways to the larger goals of the assessment process.

Career Test

Career Test

Educational perspectives have been changing with time. Today as a School we understand the need of the hour for a classroom and a teacher who can impart knowledge to every kind of student, to reach out to each child by teaching them in their own special way The Career Test helps us as a School to find out the unique nature of each child and in turn find out careers that best suit them. The Career Test also shows a graphical analysis of their MI (Multiple Intelligence) & MN (Multiple Nature) profile. At Wisdom High International School the Career Test is conducted at the Grade X level so as to enable them to know themselves better and channelize their future.

Learning for MENSANS

Learning for MENSANS

Mensans are highly intelligent children who are only 2% of the world's population who think differently. From 1st July, 2007, Wisdom High International School is an official MENSA Intelligent Quotient (IQ) Testing center for the Nashik region. Wisdom High International School and Mensa India share a common vision i.e. identifying and nurturing giftedness for societal benefits. The collaboration is unique in its own way as Wisdom High International School nurtured academic giftedness and Mensa nurtured non academic giftedness. Thus the consortium will provide a unique and holistic solution of giftedness nurturing for the community.

Remedial Teaching- The Recharge Center

Remedial Teaching- The Recharge Center

Wisdom High follows a practice of 'inclusive education' wherein we believe that every child is special and deserves an opportunity for a positive educational experience. We embrace those who have special academic needs or have learning difficulties. We are a member of Maharashtra. Dyslexia Association and our remedial teachers are time and again trained for the enlistment of children in need of special education. Parents are given regular updates and detailed reports of the same. Counseling is most effective with constant reinforcements and parents need to be partners in this process.

Faculty

Faculty

The teaching faculty is a highly qualified team of individuals from India. The faculty views themselves as facilitators in the educational process and maintains an open-communication system with the children, teachers and students enjoy a good rapport that extends beyond the classroom. They develop a close bond with the children. A quiet respect -not fear- is the motion that they seek to inspire in their children. The teacher student ratio is 2:30 at the pre-primary & primary and 1.30 at the middle and secondary school. The school also makes significant investments in teacher training programmes. As for parent-teacher interaction, in addition to the periodic meetings, parent-orientation programmes are enhanced for parents to know the methodology of teaching their children. The teachers are selected not just based on their qualifications and experience but also their approach to their world and ability to adopt innovative teaching methods.
